Montauk’s iconic Surf Lodge set the stage for an unforgettable evening on Friday, August 22, as twin sisters and social impact leaders Shabnam and Shay Safarzadeh hosted The Beauty of Giving Dinner. Presented by the Safar Global Foundation in partnership with the Flaviana Matata Foundation, the philanthropic gathering brought together an intimate mix of leaders in fashion, beauty, entertainment, and philanthropy, united by a shared mission of empowerment and education.
Against the backdrop of a breathtaking Montauk sunset, the dinner raised $40,000 which will directly complete construction of a vital WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) facility at a girls’ school in Tanzania, set for completion this December. The evening was a testament to the power of community, sisterhood, and global change, highlighting the lasting impact that comes from investing in the next generation of young women.
Throughout the evening, Shabnam and Shay shared their personal journey as daughters of a single mother who courageously brought them from Iran to the United States in pursuit of education and opportunity. That legacy now fuels their dedication to expanding access to education for girls worldwide through the Safar Global Foundation.
The event was supported by House of GRŌ and Whispering Angel, whose contributions helped create an atmosphere where style met substance and purpose was at the heart of celebration.
