The 63rd Annual New York Film Festival, presented by Film at Lincoln Center, is in full swing, filling the city’s theaters with anticipation and energy from September 26 through October 13. Known for its discerning curation, the festival continues to showcase cinema that challenges, inspires, and captivates audiences.
Luca Guadagnino’s After the Hunt opened the festival with a tense, intricately layered thriller, setting the tone for the days ahead. Spotlight and Currents selections are already making waves, from Richard Linklater’s Nouvelle Vague and the moving portrait Blue Moon to Kleber Mendonça Filho’s socially charged The Secret Agent. Currents offerings push boundaries, including Alexandre Koberidze’s Evidence, shot entirely on a Sony Ericsson phone, and Radu Jude’s modern take on Dracula.

Revived classics like Erich von Stroheim’s silent masterpiece Queen Kelly and Howard Brookner’s documentary Robert Wilson and the Civil Wars continue to draw attention, while world premieres such as Ronan Day-Lewis’s Anemone, Rebecca Miller’s Mr. Scorsese, and Ben Stiller’s Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost create daily anticipation. Red carpet appearances from Bruce Springsteen, Julia Roberts, and George Clooney add extra excitement.
