Fine art photographer James Katsipis is featured in partnership with WhiteWall following its win of the 2026 TIPA World Award for Best Photo Lab Service, awarded by the international expert jury of the Technical Image Press Association. The TIPA World Awards are among the most prestigious honors in the global photography and imaging industry. Each year, 25 editorial teams from leading photography magazines and platforms select the most innovative products and services, making the jury’s recognition a significant marker of industry influence.

For Katsipis, the collaboration reflects a meaningful shift in how he runs his creative business. He uses WhiteWall’s Shopify integration to power his entire online store, streamlining everything from production to printing and global shipping. The system has transformed his workflow, removing logistical barriers and allowing him to focus entirely on his photography while expanding his reach to collectors around the world.

Based in Montauk, New York, Katsipis has built a distinct visual identity rooted in the raw, cinematic energy of the Atlantic. Often inspired by what he calls the “End of the World,” his work captures the movement, mood, and unpredictability of the ocean—balancing technical precision with an emotional, immersive quality. From his “Mermaids of Montauk” series to abstract ocean studies like “Blurz,” his images translate fleeting natural moments into collectible fine art works that resonate with audiences globally.

His experience reflects a broader transformation in the art world, as creators increasingly adopt direct-to-collector, scalable platforms that allow them to build global businesses without compromising their artistic process.
