For Eric Viner and Jordan Scott Wise, there was never any question about where they would make their marriage official. On August 13th, the couple gathered with their families in Southampton for an intimate civil ceremony that celebrated not only their love, but the place that has become such an important part of their story.

Eric, a Palm Beach native and Spotlight Magazine contributor, has been spending time in the Hamptons for more than a decade. He introduced Jordan, a North Carolina native and anesthesiologist at Mount Sinai, to the East End in 2024, and it quickly became a special place they shared together and built their love story. What had long been a favorite destination for Eric soon became their own weekend escape from Manhattan, filled with beach days, time with family and a slower pace of life.

So when the couple decided to legally marry ahead of their larger wedding celebration in Lake Como, the answer was simple: the Hamptons. “It had to be the Hamptons,” the couple says of choosing Southampton as the setting for the special day.

Eric kicked off the celebration with a surprise Moke for Jordan, driving the couple and their families into Southampton for the ceremony at the Southampton Town Clerk’s Office. Officiated by Town Clerk Sundy A. Schermeyer, the private ceremony was intimate and personal, surrounded by the people closest to them. Following the “I do’s,” the newlyweds hopped back into the Moke and headed to Gin Lane Beach, their favorite beach in the Hamptons, for their first walk along the water as husband and husband.

The celebration continued two days later at the couple’s Water Mill home, where close friends and family gathered for an intimate garden party. Surrounded by loved ones and in a place that has become synonymous with their relationship, Eric and Jordan toasted to their new marriage and to the next chapter ahead in Lake Como.
