Southampton Arts Center hosted a special screening of LILLY on September 3rd, bringing an accomplished group of film, arts, and Hamptons creatives together for an evening centered on storytelling, justice, and women’s rights.

The film follows Lilly Ledbetter, an Alabama tire factory worker who discovers after decades on the job that she had been paid significantly less than her male counterparts. Her fight for equal pay takes her from the factory floor to the Supreme Court and Congress, transforming an ordinary citizen into a powerful voice for change. The film, directed by Rachel Feldman and starring Academy Award nominee Patricia Clarkson, also previously premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival.

Simone Levinson, founder and chairperson of Southampton Arts Center, opened the evening before guests gathered for a post-screening panel featuring Feldman, who joined via Zoom, executive producer Wendy Federman, and Clarkson. Entrepreneur, philanthropist, and producer Cheri Kaufman moderated the conversation, which concluded with a standing ovation from the audience.
