Philanthropist, author, and TV host Jean Shafiroff brought French elegance to Manhattan with her annual Bastille Day Luncheon, held at Maison Barnes restaurant on July 14. The event honored France’s national holiday and gathered a dazzling mix of fashion designers, society figures, media names, and celebrities.

Guests—including Prince Dimitri of Yugoslavia, Julia Haart, Valerie Steele, Ramona Singer, NYS Assemblywoman Rebecca Seawright, and Malan Breton—enjoyed a memorable afternoon over a gourmet meal curated by the Daniel Boulud kitchen. Jean Shafiroff made a stunning entrance in a white-and-black floral appliqué ensemble by Alice + Olivia, followed by a fuchsia Dolce & Gabbana lace dress.

A longtime supporter of the French Heritage Society, Shafiroff continues to champion efforts that preserve and promote French culture both in the U.S. and abroad. Her luncheon raised awareness for the nonprofit while celebrating the spirit of Bastille Day in true Francophile fashion.
