Over 600 guests gathered in Sagaponack this past Saturday for Hetrick-Martin Institute’s landmark 25th School’s Out benefit—an unforgettable night that raised $900,000 in support of LGBTQIA+ youth. Held at the home of hosts Christi Offutt and Soraida Bedoya, the evening marked the summer fundraiser’s highest total yet, further solidifying its place as one of the East End’s most anticipated philanthropic events.
The celebration featured standout culinary partners including Petrossian Caviar, Almond Restaurant, STK Steak, and Duryea’s, whose famed Lobster Cobb Salad made an appearance beneath a dramatic tent designed by Anthony Taccetta Event Design. Broadway star and pop artist Kelsie Watts delivered a show-stopping performance before the dance floor opened to mirrored dancers and a set by DJ Lina Bradford.
The evening welcomed an impressive guest list—Andy Cohen, Candace Bushnell, Darren Star, and Rufus Wainwright among them—alongside a high-profile host committee and returning sponsors like Nordstrom, Diageo, United, and Dry Farm Wines. Auctioneer Nick Depner and Kelly Bensimon led the high-energy paddle raise, which included luxury experiences like a villa stay in Baja, California and United Airlines flights.
“School’s Out is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when the community shows up for our youth,” said HMI CEO Amy Harclerode. “Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we raised $900,000 to ensure queer and trans young people have the safety, affirmation, and mental health support they deserve.”
