Tony Award nominated Broadway actress, singer, and writer Melissa Errico is entering an exciting new chapter with the announcement of her forthcoming album I Can Dream Can’t I?, set to release on January 30, 2026. Known for her luminous voice and magnetic stage presence, Errico continues to shape the American Songbook with her own distinct artistry, bringing warmth, wit, and emotional clarity to every performance.

The album’s first single, “When in Rome (I Do As the Romans Do),” is out now, a playful and stylish interpretation of the Cy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh classic. Recorded with pianist Tedd Firth, the track showcases Errico’s signature mix of sophistication and charm, turning its sly humor into something tender and new. She explains, “I first learned it from Blossom Dearie, and when I found myself in Rome this summer, I kept laughing to myself and hearing it in my mind. It’s about always being true to you, darling, in my fashion. I love music that is woven around wit, songs that make you smile.”

I Can Dream Can’t I? is a collection of standards that defies the typical categories of the genre. From torch songs to playful love stories, Errico explores compositions by Duke Ellington, Rodgers and Hart, Jerome Kern, Frank Loesser, Joni Mitchell, and more, finding fresh nuance in lyrics both familiar and overlooked. “For me, a song isn’t a torch song,” she says. “It’s more of a searchlight.”

The project follows a landmark year for Errico, who made her London concert hall debut at Cadogan Hall in July, performed alongside Alec Baldwin in East Hampton, and launched new live shows that will carry her into the fall, including The Life and Loves of a Broadway Baby and The Streisand Effect.

Through it all, Errico continues to affirm her reputation as “the Maria Callas of American musical theater” as described by Opera News and, as The Wall Street Journal declared, a “one of a kind performer.” With I Can Dream Can’t I?, she delivers a record that feels timeless yet deeply personal, an album that invites listeners not just to hear songs they love, but to rediscover them through her singular voice.
