Last night at Quarters in New York City, entrepreneur, actress, and YSE Beauty founder Molly Sims joined Dr. Jessica Shepherd, Chief Medical Officer of Hers, for an intimate fireside chat exploring women’s health, perimenopause, and menopause. The event celebrated the launch of Hers’ new offering designed to support women navigating these pivotal life stages.

Together, Sims and Dr. Shepherd led a powerful discussion centered on open dialogue, community, and empowerment. The room was filled with influential women in wellness and beyond, including Taryn Toomey, Erika Bloom, Jennifer Fisher, Dria Murphy, Marie Forleo, Talia Parkinson, Elizabeth Kurpis, Danielle Olivera, Lydia Fenet, and Kim Strother—each contributing to an evening of honest conversation, connection, and celebration.

In an exclusive conversation, Sims opened up about her personal journey through perimenopause and menopause.
“I’m still getting comfortable saying I’m not alone in this,” Sims shared. “Traditionally, it’s been hard for people to relate to or understand what women go through. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Now more than ever, we have a voice and can name our experiences. The more we talk openly about perimenopause and menopause, the more society will normalize and embrace these conversations.”
Reflecting on her own experience, Sims continued,
“I had kids very late in life. I’m 52 with an 8-year-old. And what was most shocking to me is that you don’t know about perimenopause and menopause until you experience it. I was having all of these symptoms without knowing the root cause… For me, not knowing has been the hardest part. This is why I feel that it’s important to be able to talk about it and identify it.”

She also shared her approach to navigating change with resilience:
“I really believe in mind over matter. It’s important to have mental toughness, and it’s important to be okay with being uncomfortable. Too often, women approach life in an ‘all or nothing’ way, thinking we just have to push through whatever we’re experiencing.”
When asked what advice she’d give to women entering this phase, Sims emphasized the importance of connection and joy:
“Surround yourself with good girlfriends and invest in your people. Journal to take note of how you feel so you can identify changes in your body. And most importantly, find fun. Let your kids see you happy — they aren’t the only ones who should be enjoying life.”

Sims also praised the Hers platform for breaking barriers in women’s healthcare.
“Healthcare has often been challenging for women, especially around perimenopause and menopause. What’s amazing about this platform is the access it provides for women everywhere — to treatment options and personalized care. Healthcare should be accessible to everyone.”
Dr. Shepherd echoed this mission, underscoring Hers’ commitment to reshaping the healthcare landscape for women.
“This isn’t just about medication – it’s about building and growing a platform that women can trust to access the care they need,” she said. “Women have been navigating an outdated healthcare system that wasn’t designed for them for too long. Hers was built to serve every woman on her terms.”
As one of the largest digital health platforms, Hers is expanding access to providers trained to support women through every life stage. Dr. Shepherd added,
“Transforming the healthcare experience for women starts with increasing access. We can help change the way women experience healthcare — and thrive.”
