1. I host the longest-running series at the 92nd Street Y, Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis. (My 16th year kicks off on September 30 with hotelier Ian Schrager.)
2. India is my happy place as I love its designers, jewelry, and culture.
3. My portrait hangs with Donna Karan and Calvin Klein in the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai.
4. I love to cook and use homegrown herbs, but I hate cilantro!
5. My cat Dimples is my joy, which also happens to be my middle name.
6. I spent a month performing off-Broadway in Daryl Roth’s production of Love, Loss, and What I Wore.
7. I’m an avid collector of caftans and collaborated with Max Alexander on the #FernToTheMax collection.
8. I grew up in a basketball-playing family and have been a Knicks fan all my life.
9. I drink chai latte with almond milk only, so don’t invite me for coffee.
10. There’s a bench in Bryant Park dedicated to Stan Herman and me for creating New York Fashion Week, sponsored by Tommy Hilfiger.
