Tommy Hilfiger returned to New York Fashion Week on Thursday with a deeply personal homecoming, presenting his Spring 2027 collection at The Plaza Hotel, the legendary address where the designer once lived with his family. Dubbed “Plaza Prep,” the show transformed one of New York’s most storied settings into a playground for a fresh take on classic American style, bringing uptown tradition and downtown cool together under one roof.

“For 40 years, I’ve been inspired by the style of New Yorkers—how the people of the city take the classics and make them their own,” Hilfiger said. “This season, The Plaza is our playground, where Tommy icons feel remixed and refined for today.”

That idea came through across the collection, with classic prep silhouettes reworked through unexpected proportions, color and fabrication. The brand’s signature red, white and blue palette was joined by vivid yellows and greens, while heritage staples like rugby dresses, Oxford shirting, tartan blazers and Ivy jackets, were given a decidedly modern update. Polos arrived shrunken and oversized, chinos became high-cut hot shorts, and the iconic Tommy Flag appeared faded and washed across superfine suede, silk-cashmere and oversized totes. Rounded ’90s-inspired skate sneakers, boat shoes, penny loafers and reworked leather pool slides grounded the looks.

The Plaza’s Palm Court and Terrace Room were filled with the Tommy family across F.A.M.E.S. (Fashion, Art, Music, Entertainment and Sport) with an especially starry front row. Gigi Hadid opened the show, while Kate Moss, Camila Cabello, JISOO, Hyoeyeon Kim, Yuri Kwon, Sooyoung Choi, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Arón Piper, Carmelo Anthony, Josh Hart, Karl-Anthony Towns, Miles McBride, and more were among the guests taking in the collection.

The runway’s soundtrack moved from classic compositions by Matt Jones and the Matt Jones Orchestra into a high-energy finale, with Romeo Beckham closing the show. Surprise performer Slayyyter then took over the runway in a head-to-toe Tommy Hilfiger look featuring red shirting, cropped shorts, a necktie and black knee-high boots, for a finale that felt unmistakably Tommy. With The Plaza serving as both backdrop and inspiration, Spring 2027 brought Hilfiger’s New York roots full circle.
