Spotlight sat down with founders of LA-based Adlan Fragrances—Alexander Del Rae and Andrew Gleason—to hear all about the brand’s exclusive collaboration with HBO’s The White Lotus.
Tell us a bit about Adlan Fragrances. How did you/you guys get into the fragrance business?
As fragrance and interior design enthusiasts, we were always on the lookout for unique candles poured into vessels that enhance the space they are occupying. Adlan was created so there is no longer a need to compromise between choosing luxury home fragrances and intentional interior styling.
We were inspired by old world loose leaf tea canisters—their clean lines and stoneware vessels provide both form and function. Once the natural coconut wax has burned for up to 60 hours, the vessel can easily be rinsed out and repurposed around the home, giving our candles a new life. We still work with the very same stoneware makers in Asia—who inspired us from the start—to import these vessels to Los Angeles, where they are hand-poured and packaged.
How has your brand evolved since you first started?
We were so lucky to be welcomed by the fragrance community with such open arms from the start. Our customers know exactly what they want and we’ve done our best to trust them as we develop the brand.
During our initial launch, the demand was so high that we doubled our collection within the first year, bringing us to 12 core fragrances and more on the way. We’ve also introduced a petite size and have diffusers coming soon.
Let’s talk about your partnership with HBO’s “The White Lotus.” How did this partnership come about?
We were lucky enough to meet with the owners of Brunch, a New York-based lifestyle brand that designs functional footwear for effortless living. Founded on the philosophy that every day should feel like vacation, they create products that elevate life’s leisurely moments.
When they started working on a capsule collection for The White Lotus, Adlan was tapped to bring the scent of luxury to life with “The Sacred Flame.” Like everyone else, we’ve been eagerly awaiting the new season and are so honored to be a part!
What was the process of making this candle with HBO like?
Collaborating with the teams at HBO and Brunch was an amazing experience. Their goal was to capture the essence of The White Lotus—its comfort, sophistication, and the feeling of an indulgent getaway. Brunch nailed it with their resort-wear and Adlan helped bring the vision to life through scent.
Tell us about this scent. How is it reminiscent of the series?
Known for its sophistication, indulgence, and drama, The White Lotus has captivated audiences—now, Adlan completes the experience with an evocative olfactory journey, bringing its essence into your space.

Next month, our long-anticipated reed diffusers hit shelves. Our customers have been begging for us to make a splash in the world of diffusers and I think we nailed it. Like everything else Adlan offers, the aesthetic and quality are really special.
