Last night, September 10th, Ayah opened at 77 West Houston Street, offering New Yorkers a new destination for Moroccan dining. The restaurant’s interiors, crafted with Moroccan artisans, feature velvet-draped archways, painted walls, and banquet tables designed for lively gatherings or intimate evenings.

The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Geoffrey Lechantoux, who trained with celebrated chef Meryem Cherkaoui, and Chef Aïcha Sbaih, whose Moroccan upbringing informs the menu. Together, they’ve built a lineup that moves from shareable chhiwates to signature pastilla, as well as an array of tajines, couscous, and large-format dishes like whole fish and rack of lamb.

Complementing the cuisine is a cocktail program from Adrien Lefort, designed to pair with the bold spices and flavors of the menu. Behind it all is 3rd Space Hospitality, known for Maison Close, now expanding its vision with a space that blends culinary authenticity with elevated design.
With its layered flavors, immersive design, and dynamic atmosphere, Ayah delivers a genuine taste of Morocco in the heart of New York City you have to check out this fall.
