When you want to look and feel your best, there’s no one better than celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Norman Rowe to make your wish a reality. The master behind Rowe Plastic Surgery and his wife, Mia Rowe, are not only redefining the worlds of beauty and wellness, but they’re also making a major impact on Palm Beach society life—and beyond.
You have both lived in New York City for decades. Why did you decide to expand both your personal and professional lives to Palm Beach?
Mia Rowe: As a child, my parents and grandparents split their time between New York and Palm Beach. Both my father and grandfather were plastic surgeons who practiced in both locations, so it felt natural for me to do the same.
Dr. Norman Rowe: While I enjoy my personal time, I’m not one to sit around. I saw a need in Palm Beach for my skills and decided to open an office/operating suite. I’m close with my father-in-law [Dr. Charles Scher] and like spending time with him.
What’s the best thing about PB life?
Mia: I love my new and old Palm Beach friends. I appreciate the carefree life here, as well as the growing nightlife. I’m working on my tennis game and learning to play canasta. I never would have done that in NYC!
Norman: PB is the perfect complement to NYC. It allows me to play golf and surf, all in the same afternoon.
Norman, how’s your practice doing here?
Norman: I’m thrilled at how well I’ve been received in Palm Beach. There’s a near two- year wait list for some procedures! Rowe Plastic Surgery Palm Beach opened last season with a bang. This season we moved into a new bigger space to accommodate the number of patients we’re seeing!
What services are you most known for?
Norman: We provide the full spectrum of cosmetic surgery. A lot of women come to me for facial rejuvenation (face, eyelids, and neck), rhinoplasty surgery, breast improvement, and body contouring.
We see tons of celebs and influencers in your practice, such as TikTok sensation Alix Earle!
Norman: I’ve had a variety of celebrities and influencers come in for treatments. One of my fondest was working with Alix Earle. She’s a wonderful and kind person, beautiful both inside and out. All patients want maximal results—to look more youthful and refreshed—with minimal downtime. Those two objectives are usually at odds with each other. Patients say they want to look better and younger, but not “overdone.”
Mia, you’re a co-owner in the business. Tell us about your role!
Mia: I help develop long-term and global strategies for Rowe Plastic Surgery. My goal is to bring our unique experience to as many people as possible.
You’ve been married for 20 years! How did you two originally meet?
Norman: I was a resident in training at NYU and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital when we met. It was at a charity event at The Bitter End in Greenwich Village. I met Mia, and we hit it off. We spent the entire evening talking and dancing. But I never called Mia because I was a bit intimidated by her. So after three weeks of silence, Mia called me! We went out that weekend and a year and a half later we were engaged. I will be forever indebted to Mia for that phone call!
What’s your favorite PB date night spot?
Mia: BiCE followed by a drink at HMF! I love the easygoing vibe and great food at BiCE. Its indoor/outdoor space is amenable to intimate dinners and dancing if you’re inclined. HMF is classic Palm Beach!
Mia, your 41st-birthday party was amazing! What do you love about hosting?
Mia: I’m a people person and I love bringing people together, especially for a party or a great cause. I love
hosting in not only Palm Beach, but New York City and the Hamptons. I love my friends, friends I haven’t met yet, and family. What better way to celebrate all three than with a party!
You’re a mother of three. How do you balance it all?
Mia: My dad always says, “Do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life.” This is so true. I love my work and family, and where there’s a will, there’s a way. While my job a lot of times has me “putting out fires” at all hours, I force myself to turn off my phone to have snuggle time with the kids or go to my yoga class.
What do you want people to know about you both?
Norman: We’re good people and very down to earth. We want people to know that we’re giving with our time and resources.
What are you guys working on now?
Norman: We’ve been approached to open Rowe Plastic Surgery in Dubai, Dallas, and Los Angeles, so we’re exploring those opportunities to bring our experience to more patients. I’m going to need to clone myself!
What’s next for you?
Mia: Besides watching and hopefully guiding my children to grow into people I will be proud of, I’ve started a cosmetic consulting/guidance company to help guide people through the sometimes rocky path to looking and feeling their best. I also want to expand my philanthropic endeavors and help those in need.
Norman: I love what I do and want to expand to help more people. At some point, I want to open an art gallery and help find the next Warhol. I love art and what it represents for people. When I do that is the only question!
