The Parrish Art Museum welcomed more than 700 artists, collectors, philanthropists, and cultural leaders to Water Mill for its annual Midsummer Gala, A Night in the Clouds, raising more than $1.7 million in support of the Museum’s exhibitions, education initiatives, and inclusive community programming.
As the Museum’s largest annual fundraiser, the evening celebrated the transformative power of art while supporting programs that expand access to creative opportunities across the East End. Guests gathered for an elegant summer evening honoring philanthropist Ellen Katz for her enduring impact on the arts, culture, and community, alongside acclaimed artists Enoc Perez, Joan Semmel, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and, in memoriam, Pat Steir, whose artistic legacies continue to shape contemporary culture.
Executive Director Dr. Mónica Ramírez-Montagut recognized each honoree’s lasting contributions to the Museum, while Board Chairman Fred Seegal paid tribute to Katz’s longstanding generosity and dedication to the Parrish through her support of exhibitions, artwork loans, and philanthropy.
A lively paddle raise, led by Rachael White Young of Christie’s, helped fund key initiatives including ACCESS PARRISH, the Museum’s award-winning program celebrating its 10th anniversary that provides tailored arts experiences for individuals with neurodivergent and other physical and mental disabilities. Proceeds also supported the Parrish’s year-round student programming, including its long-running Student Art Exhibition and the ARTscope Teen Council internship program.
The evening was led by Dinner Co-Chairs Charlotte Pilaro and Yanina Fuertes, with Afterglow Chair Alexandra Dennett, Host Committee members Fred Seegal and Jonathan Simkhai, and Capital One serving as Corporate Chair.
With another successful gala in the books, the Parrish Art Museum reaffirmed its commitment to making art more accessible while celebrating the artists, patrons, and supporters who continue to strengthen the East End’s vibrant cultural community.
