Luxury fashion house Paco Rabanne announced its collaboration with H&M during Paris Fashion Week. On October 2nd, 2023, Rabanne and H&M celebrated the announcement at the iconic Silencio nightclub in Paris.
The brands were joined by stars including Jared Leto, Ashley Graham, Cher, Irina Shayk, and many more. All of the celebrities who attended the event were even dressed in pieces from the collection.
The Rabanne and H&M collection is a seamless blend of both Rabanne’s Creative Director, Julien Dossena, and H&M’s aesthetics. Dossena’s signature futuristic style is apparent throughout all of the garments. Metallic dresses, suits, blazers, and more filled up Silencio, giving the room a funky feel.
Rabanne and H&M play with different textures in this collection; there are dresses made from chain metal, sequin tops, and fur coats. Some garments feature gold embroidery, embracing Rabanne’s luxury status.
The collaboration takes inspiration from the spirit of the 1970s, an era that was championed by carefree hippies and disco dancers. The 70s was also a time when radical changes were encouraged, which is exactly what Dossena has been doing with Rabanne since he became Creative Director in 2014.
“Rabanne has always been a joyful brand, and this event captured the playful mood of the Rabanne
H&M collection,” says Dossena. “I always want people to feel liberated when they wear our clothes, so it was great to see guests having fun and embracing the collection’s hedonistic spirit.”
What better way to let go than at a nightclub in Paris? That’s right—there’s not.
Dossena’s passion for creating clothing that makes people feel joyous is what makes this collaboration perfect. By collaborating with H&M, Rabanne is making that joy attainable for a wider range of customers.
Over the past few years, H&M has been working to make luxury more accessible to the everyday consumer. The retailer has collaborated with designers such as Simone Rocha and Mulger to create collections that are affordable without compromising the garment’s quality or status.
However, H&M is taking its collaboration with Rabanne to a whole new level. The collection will also feature home decor, which will only be available in select markets. H&M is calling the home decor selection “a sleek yet playful version of laid-back luxury.” Mirroring the collection, the home decor selection features a disc curtain, futuristic vases, and more.
If you’re not into fashion but still love the spirit of the collection, you can spice up your home with some Rabanne x H&M decor pieces.
The H&M and Rabanne collaboration will be available online and in select stores on November 9th—just in time for the holiday season. If your calendar is filled to the brim with holiday events, you should definitely consider investing in this glamorous collection.
