“The One Ocean Gala is an opportunity to bring the community together and raise critical funds to continue this important work.”

Dr. Chad Nelsen, CEO of Surfrider Foundation.

The event celebrated Surfrider’s recent victories, including water quality monitoring through the Blue Water Task Force, campaigns to reduce single-use plastics, and dune grass restoration projects that strengthen Long Island’s coastline. This year’s gala raised more than half a million dollars supporting Surfrider with both local and national conservation initiatives.

This year’s gala featured dinner by The Crow’s Nest, DJ sets from Chris Gentile and Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT, and live and silent auctions offering trips to Tuscany, the Azores, and Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch, along with jewelry, apparel, and surfboards.

Taylor and Liev Schreiber were honored as Wavemakers for their ongoing commitment to ocean conservation. The evening was co-hosted by Sarah and Matt Jackson, with a host committee including Julianne Moore, Cynthia Rowley, Rufus Wainwright, and Jayma Cardoso. Overall, the gala highlighted Surfrider’s continued impact on coastal conservation and its commitment to future generations.
