On January 21st, 2025, power couple Andrew and Sarah Wetenhall announced that they are in contract to purchase the historical Hedges Inn in East Hampton.
The Wetenhall’s currently own The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, which is considered the island’s “Pink Paradise.”
The couple has been committed to preserving the rich history of The Colony Hotel, and they plan to do the same with this Hamptons landmark.
“Built in 1873, The Hedges has long been an important part of the community, and we are committed to preserving its legacy for future generations,” Sarah Wetenhall exclaimed in an Instagram post.
Last year, locals were in an uproar when it was rumored that private club Zero Bond would be taking over the land, so, for many, its a relief to see community members purchase the space.
Currently owned by the Cumming family, the Hedges Inn is a 13-room inn with a restaurant space located at 74 James Lane in East Hampton.
The Hedges Inn is a Hamptons staple, locals have always been allured by its charm and the Wetenhall’s don’t plan on changing that fact.
“We look forward to creating a welcoming, one-of-a-kind experience for all guests, evolving The Hedges into the very best version of itself,” Sarah Wetenhall stated.
We cannot wait to see how The Hedges Inn will thrive under the Wetenhall family!
