On Monday, September 9th, designer Dennis Basso debuted his S/S 2025 titled “Age of Possibility” collection during New York Fashion Week.

Spotlight went backstage with Basso to hear all about the inspiration behind his collection in partnership with QVC.

Tell us what we can expect from your S/S 2025 collection.

The spring/summer collection is inspired by generational dressing. I’ve dressed mothers, grandmothers, and daughters, and I wanted to create a collection that translates across different age groups. It is fun, light, and easy.

I used the great American resorts as an inspiration as well. There are gorgeous chiffon gowns, flowing lines, and original artwork prints.

What are the tangible steps to creating a successful runway show?

It is a lot of work—it takes months and months, and months to put one together. I have a wonderful team and I think that is what makes it all happen. It takes a village, and I’ve put together an amazing village.

How have you seen fashion week change over the years?

Fashion Week has changed because the women are modern but still just as sophisticated. A new look has developed. The 50-year-old today is really 30 and the 70-year-old today is really 50. It is the “Age of Possibility!”

What is the first thing you’re going to do after the show?

I’m going to go home and sit down with a nice martini. I’m going to relax and watch the next two days of NYFW.

Basso’s S/S’25 collection is all about transcending age and making his designs accessible with QVC. Susan Lucci even made a return to the runway for Dennis Basso, closing out the show.

“Age of Possibility” is a refreshing take on fashion and will certainly be the talk of New York Fashion Week.
