On a luminous spring evening in Manhattan, Spoons Across America marked its 25th anniversary with a gala that blended polished society ease with a clear sense of purpose. Held at the iconic Metropolitan Club, the evening drew philanthropists, culinary tastemakers, and fashion insiders in support of a mission that feels increasingly urgent—advancing food literacy for children nationwide.

At its core, Spoons Across America teaches children where food comes from, how to prepare it, and why it matters—linking nutrition, culture, and community through hands-on classroom programming. The organization’s work continues to expand nationally, bringing practical food education into schools and helping students build confidence, curiosity, and lifelong healthy habits.

The evening’s co-chairs—Katherine Gage Boulud, Jeff Bank, and Lauren Amanda Adler—welcomed guests into a room that felt equal parts New York elegance and seasonal anticipation. They all shared a common theme in their remarks, underscoring the urgency of food education as a foundational life skill. Their message set a purposeful tone before the room shifted into one of the night’s most animated moments: the live auction.

What followed was a spirited display of generosity, with culinary experiences from Jacques Pépin, Daniel Boulud, José Andrés, Marcus Samuelsson, and Stefano Secchi drawing strong competition. A tennis-focused offering from John McEnroe and a stay at the Brazilian Court Hotel in Palm Beach added a luxe travel-forward edge. By night’s end, the gala had raised more than $521,000 in support of expanding national programming.

Throughout the evening, the co-chairs moved seamlessly through the room, greeting supporters and longtime friends of the organization. Their message reflected real momentum; Spoons Across America has expanded its reach by more than 300 percent over the past year as schools increasingly embrace hands-on food education as part of broader wellness initiatives.

As the formal program gave way to celebration, the atmosphere shifted into a softer downtown-leaning energy. The official after-party was hosted by Spotify, transforming the West Lounge into a glowing late-night setting. Guests lingered over desserts by Cuisine Boulud before the dance floor filled via DJ Eva Vos. Support from Morgan Stanley, Delta Air Lines, Alice + Olivia, and Betty Booze underscored the breadth of the organization’s appeal across industries and social circles.

By evening’s end, the celebration felt less like a formal anniversary and more like a look to the future. As Spoons Across America gears up for its next chapter, the mission remains clear—bringing food education into classrooms nationwide with access, joy, and lasting impact.
