Jones Road is all about enhancing natural beauty rather than covering it up. Do you think people’s relationship with makeup has changed over the years?

I do see a shift and a change. Everything has gotten much more relaxed in general, from clothes to hair and makeup. I personally am wearing less makeup than I ever have because the ultimate luxury for me is an easy routine that works. The Jones Road Beauty customer is most interested in simplicity and using products that make their lives easier.

When you’re developing something new for Jones Road, what’s the first question you ask yourself?

Is this a product that doesn’t exist in the line? Also, will it round out our current assortment? Is this new product we’re developing better than anything I’ve ever tried?

What’s one piece of beauty advice you’ve never changed your mind about?

Lifestyle choices affect how you look, and makeup should enhance who you are, not change who you are.

Miracle Balm has become one of Jones Road’s most talked-about products. Did you expect it to become such a phenomenon?

I knew I loved it. I knew my circle of friends loved it and kept asking for more. But I never expected the phenomenon that it’s become.

This summer, you’ve been driving the Jones Road truck around the Hamptons handing out samples. Have you had any memorable interactions with customers?

I’ve had many. I’ve heard stories from people of all ages and from all over the world who love the Jones Road brand or have been inspired by my career and beauty philosophy. They tell me about the experiences they’ve had in our Jones Road stores, which I love hearing. One of the most memorable stops we made was when we parked the Rivian in front of Lulu Kitchen and Bar in Sag Harbor, and I got to take photos with the staff and some of my friends whom I met there. I love how this activation is bringing together all kinds of people who might not normally meet one another. It’s also been a great way to raise awareness around our East Hampton store. Overall, it’s been a fun, uplifting experience.

What is it about the East End that keeps you coming back every summer?

Everything. The farms, the restaurants, and connecting with friends. I don’t get to see them as much during the rest of the year since I travel often. Even though summers are getting so crowded, I’ve still managed to find my little spots that are calmer and more chill.

Has your Hamptons lifestyle influenced the way you think about beauty and about building your brand?

I’ve always thought of myself as a lifestyle brand, even though it’s beauty-focused. I love a healthy lifestyle that’s easy, and that’s what the Hamptons represents to me.

If someone only had five minutes to get ready for a Hamptons dinner party, which three Jones Road products would you hand them?

An espresso pencil to line the eyes, gently smudged. You can also use the same pencil to lightly fill in the brow. A pretty blush on the cheek that can also be used on the lips. Then, for the last product, it’s a toss-up between our new Bright Skin Illuminating Drops, which you can use to add a summer glow to your face and body, and our En Route fragrance, an evening fragrance that instantly makes you feel party-ready.

Where are you most likely to be on your ideal Hamptons day when you’re not working?

I like to start the morning with a training session at Equinox; I train with Lisa Miller and Was Ashayer, but the whole team is fantastic. Then, I’ll grab a chocolate smoothie at Sun Life. If it’s on a Saturday, I head to the Sag Harbor Farmer’s Market, shop for some produce, and see my friend, Kira Lipp, the founder of Kira’s Cookies. Everything she makes is gluten-free and dairy-free. We collaborated on a delicious muffin called the Bobbi Muffin. I have one every morning for breakfast. After the market, I’ll meet my friends or family for lunch at Duryea’s Lobster Deck in Montauk. The Lobster Cobb Salad is legendary. After lunch, I love going to my backyard and staring at the cove. I call some girlfriends or talk to my 95-year-old Aunt Alice while I watch the rowers go by.

Can you give our readers a little tease of what’s next for Jones Road?

We have a new defining mascara launching in August that I obsessed with that comes in black and brown.
