Frederick Anderson invited guests into his garden for Spring/Summer 2027 with “My Garden Party,” a collection celebrating the many cultures, stories, and traditions that have shaped American style. Inspired by Anderson’s Southern roots and the storytelling tradition of folk music, the collection offered a colorful, eclectic take on the American wardrobe.
The garden party theme came to life on the runway as models carried woven baskets overflowing with fresh flowers, setting the scene for a collection filled with vibrant prints, rich textures, and feminine silhouettes. Floral-print sets brought a playful energy to the lineup, while brown leather and silk added a more grounded, luxe sensibility. Textured skirts and feather-embossed bottoms brought dimension to the looks, alongside knit and crochet sets that gave the collection an artisanal feel.
Sheer, feminine dresses added a softer note, while cowhide prints and statement event dressing brought a dose of Anderson’s signature drama. The result was a wardrobe that moved easily between relaxed, textural separates and head-turning pieces designed for a major entrance.
The collection’s celebration of American identity extended beyond the clothes. Grammy Award and two-time Juno Award winner Allison Russell opened the show with her Grammy-winning song “Eve Was Black,” underscoring Anderson’s focus on heritage, resilience, and the stories carried through generations.
With “My Garden Party,” Anderson turned the runway into exactly that: a gathering of prints, textures, craftsmanship, and cultural references, all rooted in his vision of the many influences that make American style what it is.
