On Wednesday, April 16th, Fashion Group International held its 19th Annual Rising Star Awards ceremony and red carpet in New York City.
The luncheon honors talents in the fashion, beauty, accessories, and fine jewelry sectors. Acclaimed actress, producer, and NYT best-selling author Tiffany Haddish was this year’s host.
“Today, FGI spans 26 regions globally and continues to connect executive-level leaders from fashion, beauty, tech, wellness, you name it,” said Haddish. “It’s a powerhouse network.”
Former President and CEO of Hermès Americas Robert Chavez was presented with FGI’s inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award.
“For me, it’s always about people. As I look out, there are so many achievers, dreamers that I see, that have touched my life, and it’s been an amazing journey, a really amazing journey,” said Chavez upon accepting this award.
The 2nd Macy’s Future Fashion Award—along with a $1,000 scholarship—was presented to LIM College student Camille Jiang.
Many other honorees were recognized for their excellence in fashion.
The awards ceremony and luncheon brought out the fashion elites of New York City including Elie Tahari, Dennis Basso, Fern Mallis, Frederick Anderson, Jonathan Cohen, Ken Downing, Micaela Erlanger, and Spotlight Editor-in-Chief Sydney Sadick.
