Some may believe that after Labor Day Weekend the Hamptons ceases to exist—until Memorial Day Weekend rolls around, of course.
But the truth is, the events don’t end and businesses don’t close just because the air is crispier and the leaves turn orange. The Hamptons are still alive and well during Autumn. If you’re looking to get in on some of the fall fun, we’ve got you covered.
Here is a Hamptonite’s ultimate guide to Autumn.
1. Visit the Wölffer Estate Vineyard
If you’re in the mood for some wine, music, food, and gorgeous views, then you need to head to the Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack this fall. Visiting this 55 acre winery is the perfect way to unwind from a hectic summer. The vineyard will have live music all fall long. Plus, the kitchen will be serving up raclette on Sundays—which is absolutely to die for.
2. Get a Coffee at Golden Pear Cafe
With locations all across the Hamptons, getting coffee at Golden Pear Cafe is a must. The iconic cafe is offering pumpkin spice lattes and cappuccinos this Autumn. We couldn’t think of a better way to start the day than grabbing coffee and croissant at Golden Pear Cafe before doing some shopping.
3. Pick a Pumpkin at Hanks Pumpkintown
Whether you’re a child or an adult, a visit to Hanks Pumpkintown in Water Mill is a guaranteed ghoulishly good time. Hanks offers everything from tractor rides to corn mazes and fall-forward games. You can also do some apple or pumpkin picking while you’re there—or both. You’ll also have to pick up some apple cider donuts and roasted corn while you’re at Hanks Pumpkintown.
4. Shop the Westhampton Beach Sidewalk Sale
During the month of October, the businesses of Westhampton Beach will be holding a sidewalk Sale. On the 7th, 8th, and 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., you can shop the hottest sales on Main Street. This is a great way to stock up on some seasonal goodies.
5. Attend the Annual Montauk Fall Fest
This year marks the 42nd annual Montauk Fall Festival. This festival takes place over Columbus Day Weekend and features local food vendors, live music, and pumpkin beers. If you’re looking to have some good eats and support local businesses this fall, you should definitely attend this event.
6. Watch a Film at the Hamptons International Film Festival
From October 5th to the 12th is the 30th annual Hamptons International Film Festival. Film screenings will be shown in locations across East Hampton, Sag Habor, and Southampton. If you enjoy a cozy night at the cinema, you should absolutely look into attending this festival.
7. Go to the Sag Habor Whaling and Historial Museum
Taking a trip to the Sag Harbor Whaling and Historical Museum is a must before they close for the season. The museum will be open until Columbus Day and won’t re-open until the spring. If you’re interested in the harbor’s history, this is the perfect rainy-day activity.
8. Pick up Locally Grown Produce at the Round Swamp Farm Market
There is nothing like locally grown produce. Taking a trip to the iconic Round Swamp Farm Market is a great way to stock up on some seasonal produce. If you’re not in total grocery shopping mode, you can just pick up one of their grab-and-go meals! There are Round Swamp Farm Markets in Bridgehampton, East Hampton, and Montauk.
Now that you know all the hottest places to go this season, we hope to see you in the Hamptons sometime soon.
