As the leaves start to change and the air gets crispier—commencing a new season—it’s important to prioritize your wellness.
The colder months can lead to a lack of motivation in some, and getting ahead of these feelings can make all the difference come January and February.
Founder of the all-female run club Noe Bad Vibes, Reneé Noe, sat down with Spotlight to offer some autumn wellness tips below.
You are the founder of Noe Bad Vibes, an all-female run club. How do you stay motivated to workout?
I stayed motivated to work out because the mental clarity I feel afterwards is worth every single hard moment during my workout. Growing up, I never exercised or worked out and I missed out on that feeling of accomplishment. Working out is literally what keeps me sane.
Where is your favorite place to go for a run?
I really love to run along the beach where I live. A favorite route of mine is starting at the top of Newport Coast here in Orange County and running down into Balboa and Lido Island. That is about 20 mile run right there and it is the best way to spend my day.
What advice would you give to those looking to prioritize their wellness this fall?
A new season is a perfect time for a change. As the air gets cooler, it’s the best time to get in a run outside now that it’s not so hot! If running isn’t your thing, maybe sign up for a workout class you’ve never done before or have a friend workout with you. A new fall workout fit also never fails!
What does the word wellness mean to you?
Wellness to me is a balance of soul and body in complete harmony. If I had complete wellness, I’d assume I’d be maintaining a perfect balance of physical, mental, and emotional health!
What is your biggest wellness tip?
Always prioritize consistency over anything else. Slow and steady wins the race. You don’t always need to completely change your life around to see a change. Slight adjustments in your lifestyle can lead to long-lasting changes.
Will you be trying anything new this fall?
I’d love to get into pilates reformers. I used to take classes here and there when I first got into modeling at 18, but once I found my love for running it became my priority. However, I’d love to jump back into pilates and strengthen my pelvic floor!
