What began as the highly anticipated revival of a beloved local landmark has now fully cemented itself as the social heartbeat of the East End. On any summer morning, the line outside Sagaponack General Store spills out the door, with everyone from longtime locals to fashion insiders and weekenders gathering for coffee, breakfast, beach provisions, and a sense of community.

Now entering its second summer season since reopening, the store is focused on building upon that momentum. Owner Mindy Gray is introducing thoughtful new products, expanding offerings, and further establishing the location as an everyday ritual for both year-round residents and summer regulars alike. “We’re certainly more seasoned and ready to welcome back our summer customers while embracing our year-round neighbors, too,” Gray says.
So, what’s at the center of this summer’s additions? A new breakfast rivalry that may quickly become the talk of the Hamptons. The store is launching two new breakfast burritos—one vegetarian and one with chorizo—after months of recipe testing and refinement. “We spent a lot of time taste-testing our new burrito and can’t wait to see how the breakfast burrito battle plays out,” Gray says.

Naturally, the launch also comes with merchandise destined to become an East End status symbol: an illustrated canvas tote reading, “I got the last breakfast sandwich!”
Beyond breakfast, the store continues to lean into what it does best—elevated everyday essentials. Think a house-made granola, homemade hummus, and a new collection of branded mugs that feel perfectly aligned with the store’s nostalgic yet modern aesthetic. But perhaps the most meaningful launch is one tied to Sagaponack itself.
“This has been in the works since the height of Sagaponack tomato season last year,” Gray reveals. “We will now be selling our very own Sagaponack General Store tomato sauce, featuring Marilee’s famous local tomatoes.” The tomato sauce embodies exactly why the store has resonated so strongly. While many Hamptons concepts feel temporary or trend-driven, Sagaponack General Store feels ultra connected to place—celebrating local agriculture, familiar traditions, and the slower rhythms that define life Out East.

There’s another milestone for the store this season. For the first time, it’s officially operating seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. year-round. “I’ve been wanting to say that,” Gray says with a laugh. That expanded schedule reflects what the store has quietly become over the past year—not simply a popular stop, but an essential part of the Hamptons lifestyle ecosystem. In many ways, that may be the store’s greatest success of all: creating a place that feels simultaneously brand-new and entirely timeless.
Sagaponack General Store is located at 542 Sagg Main Street, Sagaponack.
